PREP DAY YESTERDAY
Hot, a little windy, and VERY frustrating!!!

If we were videotaping our day yesterday
it would have been quite humorous.
R was taping and putting plastic over the windows, doors, chimney and fixtures and the wind was blowing just enough to move the plastic and started to unstick the tape because the walls were getting too hot.  It was like R was chasing his tail and getting nowhere.

I was removing caulk and re-caulkng our entry way and garage doors, which have 2' squares all over them.  A very long and tedious job too, however I was shaded so I'm not complaining.

One thing I learned...make sure you listen to music or a book on tape while you do tedious work because if I didn't hear noise, I kept imagining that R fell off the roof or he had heat stroke or a heart attack or something.  I kept having to go in the backyard and check to make sure he was OK.

This was at the end of the day and R could barely move.

We had no idea prep would take us ALL day.

We rented a spray gun, but didn't use it AT ALL today due to the long prep day...
$100 bucks down the drain.

The ONLY thing of beauty in the yard yesterday was:
And yes, this is just one stem and one yellow rose.
A single sensation!

Here's the great news though..
Our contractor came by yesterday to work on the wall we changed, but he got stuck in traffic so was late.  We were still taping, calking, and very hot and cranky when he arrived.  He saw us and felt bad
for us because as home owners and not professional painters, we don't have all the gadgets and tricks that make prepping and painting easier.

He said that his brother is a professional painter and he is free over the weekend so the biggest blessing is that he is working on the house with R as I write this.
He has the tools, he has the know-how, and he can tell R what to do to get this job done this weekend.
Prepping is the worst part and that is pretty much done.

We are trying to beat the sun today, but
THE PAINTING HAS BEGUN!!!!
