Actually done 12/24/14, but just blogging now.
The Electrician came to do the finishing work because the cabinets, plumbing and granite has all been installed.
He added electricity in the island on both ends (one power supply is tucked under the granite overhang so nobody can see it).
He also installed under cabinet lighting which was a huge chore because he wired it to all connect to one on/off switch and he had to be down in the crawl space to do that. Yuk!
Turns out nothing is easy, however. I was so excited to turn the under cabinet lighting after the electrician finished up and unfortunately, The LED under cabinet lights I purchased had a very yellow tone. We already changed our ceiling bulbs to a less yellow light bulb so that the white cabinets don't look yellow.
On the top, the cabinets look fresh and clean, however under the cabinets it looks like grandma's kitchen. That's all nice and cozy, but the two-tone look is not the look I was going for.
When I did a little investigating, the store actually displays the brighter light but did not tell me that they sell different levels of brightness. I thought I was buying what was on display, which was the brighter LED bulb and he didn't lead me to believe I was buying anything different than the display.
I had to disassemble the under cabinet lighting, package the old ones up perfectly, order brighter bulbs and then reinstall the new ones myself. Thankfully the store refunded the lights, but I lost money on the transaction because the electrician cut one of the 12" pieces to make it fit and they would not return that light strip.
The electrician also installed my "Cyber Monday" chandelier. Pictures don't do it justice and the ugly, old shades on the window and the lack of trim around the window don't help it look special, but it is special indeed.
