Oh yes, there is bike drama!

Well, I finally went by the bike shop to look at my bike and the new frame that they decided to give me is from their corporte inventory of frames they don't sell. The manager explained that they always keep a few frames in inventory from each year for warrantee replacements such as my issue or for parts. This is a 2008 brand new carbon frame and they told me on the phone it was black and metalic purple, but it turns out it's black and lavenderish-grey. I wasn't real sure about black and metalic purple, but black and grey w/ a lavender tint is well...
not a color I really like.
I kept looking at it hoping the lavender tint was in my head but it's not and the bike store guys agreed.

The picture that the bike store emailed me does not look
lavender-ish and when you see it here, it really doesn't look lavender-ish either, but in person....there's no denying it.
I kept seeing black and grey and wondered where the metalic purple was that they were talking about.
It never occurred to me that their "purple" would
include every hue of purple on the color wheel.

They already put my components on the bike too, so it's just a mess. I don't want to be a problem, but I also looked long and hard to find my last bike and to just take this bike because it's what THEY picked for me is not sitting with well with me.
Especially because I told them I do not like the girly type colors. Bold colors are ok, but pastels are not.

I asked what my options were and he walked me around the store and gave me a couple options of bike frames he already has, but they are lesser quality than my old bike. I know they'd really like to deplete their current inventory so that they don't lose any money on this warrantee deal and as you can imagine, that's not my 1st priority at all. I want a bike with the same quality as my old bike AND that looks good to me. I AM a girl afterall.

So, I called a couple bike people I know to get their opinion and did some research and perhaps have a bike I like because of the new design. It's almost the same bike as the black and lavender-ish one, but it's the 2011 version with a new design. Orange is not a color I ever thought about having, but it's not pastel and I LOVE the overall design.

Here it is: I'll keep you posted as the saga goes on and on and
on
and
on
and
on......
