Ahhhh...the floor is going in!!!!!

It was exciting to see the floor go in.  First day was a lot of set up and getting the tedious parts done like the measuring, setting up the wood, and then some installation.  The 2nd day was great.  Early rise, late ending and a lot done.  It was so great and we were feeling pretty good about the progress.  3rd day was a half day and then...well, it slowed down considerably.

Entry installed:

Family room installed:
That is a tape curtain taped up above the doorway. That has been there since June to contain the drywall dust from the wall that was supposed to be fixed.

Living room installed:

Living room installed with stair treads next:

Heater vents installed:

Stair treads ready to be installed:

Maybe boredom set in, who knows?  We got 3 good days and then all we know is that it was truly hit or miss if the contractor would show up.  All while R was dealing with his work catastrophes.  Nothing like incredible and unimaginable stress at work and then a nightmare situation at home with a torn up house that we had no idea when and if it would get finished.

At this point, the contractor wanted to sand the floors however we wanted the stair treads installed and then the wall finished that was started way back in June.  We wanted everything finished before the sanding began so the jobs weren't fragmented, however the contractor was going to do what he wanted (sanding) and then the sander broke. I'm telling you it was God that fixed this situation for us.  The contractor wasn't able to sand the day he rented the machine, so instead of renting the machine the next day we saw him, we asked him to finish the stairs and finish the wall and forget the sanding for now.
