SPRAY PAINTING THE FIREPLACE SURROUND!

Thought I'd tackle redoing the fireplace surround. It was brass and now it's black.

I used regular spray paint on the other fireplace, but started feeling that perhaps I was supposed to use heat spray paint.
Heat spray paint at Home Depot and Lowes only comes in silver and black and the silver is very shiny, so I went with black.

 and.....I hate the black.

Not only did I get a black residue on the flooring over 7 ft away that I didn't cover, I just hate the black.  It's just too dark.

After I realized that there was alot of overspray, I decided to start wearing these bags over my feet so the bottom of anything I wore wouldn't get black/gray on them.  It worked great.

And here's the finished product. Antique Pewter!
